Geothermal Energy: A Major Contribution to Climate Protection

Consumption of commercially used energy has been rising dramatically for decades. In 20 years it will double once more. Securing energy supplies is one of the greatest challenges facing the 21st century. Closely linked to this is the question
of how long we can afford to generate energy that produces CO2 and continues
to create the greenhouse effect. Since beginning of the year 2007 public and media discussions deal with climate change and innovative companies as the Rauch Geothermics focus on renewable energies which will help alleviate some of the world’s energy and climate crises.

Strong impulses for ecological development

Besides water power there is only one renewable and constantly available energy that produces no emission: geothermal power. Geothermal energy generation produces absolutely no environmentally harmful emissions that could have a negative effect on the ecological balance of the environment. Even the thermal water that is pumped to the surface remains part of the natural cycle: after the heat is recovered it is pumped back into the earth, where it heats up again.
The architectural footprint of a modern power generation plant isn't invasive either: the area required by a geothermal power plant on the earth's surface is relatively small compared to other power stations.
